Imitation Period

The Imitation Period marks a deliberate stage of my practice in which I turn toward the work of artists who have profoundly shaped my understanding of contemporary art, using imitation as a method of learning, questioning, and transformation. Rather than simply reproducing existing images, these works examine how an established artistic language can be displaced into new subjects, contexts, and cultural moments. By recreating, substituting, and reinterpreting familiar visual ideas, I am exploring the boundaries between influence and originality, homage and appropriation, and repetition and reinvention. This period embraces imitation not as an endpoint, but as a conscious exercise through which I can better understand the visual systems I have inherited and ultimately determine what I want to retain, challenge, or make my own.
